Interpretation of terms and abbreviations

  • Red: substance is not approved
  • Orange: substance is pending
  • Green: substance is approved
  • Black: substance is no legislation
  • Market:  country, market, or other entity for which the MRL information is applicable.
  • Category: food groups
  • Group:  foods that share similar nutritional properties or biological classifications.
  • Subgroup: is a group that is part of a larger group.
  • Main product: commodity term used to search the MRL database.
  • CAS number: Chemical Abstracts Service number
  •  Parameter: the common name pesticides term or other contaminants are used to search the MRL.
  • MRL: Maximum Residue limit
  • MRL type: status substance is approved, or not approved, or pending, or general (not set yet).
  • Unit: the suitable unit for each parameter
  • Min Limit: Minimum limit for micro parameters which have to control 5 times.
  • Max limit: Maximum limit for micro parameters which have to control 5 times.
  • Residue Note:  Residue definition information provided.
  • Effective Day: Lists the day that substance is approved, has been officially indicated in the MRL regulations.
  • Expiry Day: lists the expiration date for substance if a revocation has been officially indicated in the MRL regulations
  • Legislation: the regulation number for the certain substance.
  • Commodity Notes: Contains additional information regarding the commodity and MRL that may be indicated in a market's regulation.
