On December 19, 2023, General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) published a list of non-compliant food products in November 2023 with a total of 182 cases of imported food from 33 countries/regions were rejected.
The major reasons for import rejections were as follows:
- Unqualified labeling.
- Discrepancy between cargo and certificate.
- Food additives exceed MRL.
- Lack of inspection & quarantine permit.
- Microorganism contamination.
