On December 31, 2024, the Minister of Health issued Circular No. 52/2024/TT-BYT Promulgating national technical regulations and regulations on testing and monitoring the quality of clean water used for domestic purposes. This Circular replaces Circular No. 41/2018/TT-BYT dated December 14, 2018 of the Minister of Health promulgating national technical regulations and regulations on testing and monitoring the quality of clean water quality and Circular No. 26/2021/TT-BYT dated December 15, 2021 amendments, supplements and repeals a number of Articles of Circular No. 41/2018/TT-BYT of the Minister of Health Promulgating national technical regulations and regulations on testing and monitoring the quality of clean water used for domestic purposes.
Notable Changes in Circular No. 52/2024/TT-BYT:

- Supplementing regulations on internal and external inspection, testing and monitoring of clean water quality used for domestic purposes.
- Regulate the frequency and number of samples to be tested. In addition, to encourage units to manage water quality well, the frequency of internal inspection will be reduced. Specifically:
- Water supply organization in testing all parameters: in case of consecutive passes in 2 periodic tests, the periodic testing frequency is reduced from 03 to 05 years/time.
- Water supply organization in testing group B: in case of consecutive passes in 2 times, the testing frequency is reduced from 06 months to 01 year/time).
- Regulations on the time limit for public disclosure of internal and external testing results on the unit's website within 03 working days, 5 working days and 20 days.
- There are also changes in the testing parameters. Specifically:
- Group A includes 10 parameters (Total Coliform, E.coli or heat-resistant coliform, Color, Odor, pH, Turbidity, Arsenic, Free Residual Chlorine, Permanganate, Ammonium) 2 more parameters than QCVN 01-1:2018/BYT (Permanganate and Ammonium parameters)
- Group B includes the remaining 89 parameters. (Total 99 parameters similar to QCVN 01-1:2018/BYT)
- In addition, QCVN 01-1:2024/BYT has updated new testing methods according to regulations.

Transition date: no later than 31/12/2027
